Treatments Offered

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles into specific locations on the body. The insertion and manipulation of these needles can balance the energy and regulate the functions of the body by clearing disruptions in the flow of qi. Disruptions in the flow cause blockages of energy that will manifest as illness or pain.
Acupuncture treatments will relieve pain and stress as well as increase vitality.
The needles used for acupuncture treatments are high grade surgical steel that are disposable for one use only.

Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese Herbal Medicine is a rich and diverse modality with great historical depth. Chinese herbal ingredients are most often prescribed in combination for maximum therapeutic benefit as well as mitigating any possible side-effects.

Esoteric Acupuncture
Esoteric Acupuncture is the art of energizing acupuncture points in a specific way for the purpose of raising consciousness. Esoteric Acupuncture is designed to allow you to unfold your Inner Light/Wisdom at your own pace. Real healing is the journey itself.

Customized Individual Treatment
Each client is treated as an individual and the context of their individual experience is taken into account when developing a plan for health, wellness and healing. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to health. A common saying in Chinese Medicine is: “Same disease, different treatment”. We are not so much concerned with the name of the “disease” but rather interested in uncovering the root cause of dysfunction.

Acupuncture FAQ
How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture has a documented history dating back to ancient China over 4000 years ago. it is based on treating the internal energy (qi). The Ancient Chinese mapped out the flow of qi through the body into 14 meridians (energy pathways). Recently, electromagnetic research has confirmed the existence of the qi pathways.
An ancient Chinese proverb says; “When there is pain there is no free flow of qi. When there is free flow of qi there is no pain.” Pain is essentially a blockage in the flow energy within the body. By stimulating acupuncture points, blockages can be opened to restore the proper flow of qi.
Acupuncture is a safe and effective holistic medicine backed by centuries of practice and research. It is practiced worldwide both as a primary and adjunctive treatment for a wide range of conditions. The clinical success of acupuncture is related, for the most part, to the wide range of diagnostic signs and symptoms which are taken into effect when looking at an imbalance.
An acupuncturist will insert very fine needles into the appropriate points to stimulate energy flow into or out of an affected area/organ to balance excess and deficiency patterns. The desired result is to balance the energy and blood flow of the body in order to restore harmony.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture is painless but once the acupoints are stimulated the patient should feel some sensation such as heaviness, tingling, distention,or electric sensation as energy pathways are opened and balanced. These sensations are natural and any discomfort a patient may experience is usually brief and mild.
Are the needles clean?
Yes. The needles are high grade surgical steel that are pre sterilized and disposable for one use only.
How many treatments will I need?
That depends on the duration, severity and nature of your complaint. Some patients find relief after a single treatment for an acute condition while others may require five to fifteen treatments. Some chronic or degenerative conditions may require up to three to six months of treatment.
What can I expect after the treatment?
You may find dramatic results after the first treatment, although it is more common to notice results after two or three treatments. Some patients may experience immediate full or partial relief of their symptoms. This relief may last only a few hours to a few days. This means the treatment is working but will require more visits to be fully effective.
When treating cases of pain (especially chronic pain), it is important to break the pain cycle. At first it may be only for a few hours, but eventually the pain will be relieved for days and then weeks until eventually there will be no pain at all.
Why should I get acupuncture treatments if I am not suffering from any disease?
Preventative medicine! Why wait for something to break down, “tune-ups” will keep your body, mind and spirit running smoothly and harmoniously.
Far too often, people will ignore a nagging pain or suffer with minor symptoms for long periods of time before seeking treatment. Over time, the condition/pain will worsen and consequently require more treatment to eliminate. Symptoms of pain and illness, no matter how minor, are signals from your body telling you something is out of balance. Don’t needlessly suffer. Seek treatment sooner than later and the course of treatment will likely be short and simple. Conversely, waiting too long often leads to a lengthy process to achieve effective results.
Will treatments be covered by insurance?
Acupuncture treatments are often covered under extended health insurance plans. Check with your provider to see if Acupuncture by a registered Acupuncturist is covered by your plan. Acupuncture is not covered by OHIP.
Is Christopher M. Di Tecco a registered practitioner?

Esoteric Acupuncture
The summer of 2013 was a transformative time for Chris and his practice. Chris began his studies in Esoteric Acupuncture with its pioneer Dr. Mikio Sankey and continues to be a devoted student. Esoteric Acupuncture was the evolution in the art of medicine he was looking for. The teachings resonated with him at a deep level and caused a major shift in the way he practices medicine and in how he views the healing process.
As of October 2017 Chris has become a teacher of Esoteric Acupuncture with the goal of spreading the teaching to many more new and enthusiastic practitioners.
Esoteric Acupuncture – Healing for an Awakening Humanity
Esoteric Acupuncture is a creative healing art that focuses on consciousness expansion to enable one to strengthen their Higher Spiritual Heart Centre. The pioneer in the field is Dr. Mikio Sankey (www.esotericacupuncture.com). Dr. Sankey has integrated many traditions including: the Chinese acupuncture system, Sacred Geometry, Hindu Chakra and Nadi systems, the Cabbalistic Tree of Life, and physics from Einstein to Field Theory, quantum mechanics and superstring theory along with many other aspects of the Ageless Wisdom. The word “esoteric” can be defined as something that is “hidden” or “not readily known”. With Esoteric acupuncture we are aiming to pierce the physical body to activate that which is hidden.
Where Esoteric Acupuncture differs from other modalities is that it focuses on the finer energetic levels above the physical, emotional, and mental levels. The majority of the acupuncture points used are on the main meridian pathways but the difference lies in the point selection and activation. The acupuncture points are needled in a specific sequence which create sacred geometric patterns. This unique activation of the acupuncture points installs energetic grids which creates an opportunity to access higher realms of consciousness to initiate a higher form of healing.
Although the main focus of Esoteric Acupuncture treatment is to expand consciousness, the person receiving the treatment can also experience an improvement in physical symptoms. The root of all things is energy and vibration, including the physical body. Making changes on the energetic level will have a direct effect on the physical level.
This is the time for a new paradigm within healthcare and healing, one that embraces the role consciousness plays in all aspects of our lives. Esoteric Acupuncture is one of the modalities that is at the forefront of this movement.
